MAIN STAGE SHOW TERM INTRO

For our Summer Show term we go into a large theatre this is called MAIN STAGE TERM this is usually always in the summer with a show in June or July. We start rehearsals for Main Stage show term in January each year, beginning with workshopping the theme, auditions, casting, rehearsal and then showtime! This is a great time for new students to join us. The venue for our Main Stage Show can vary from year to year, two years ago we were in an outdoor Tipi Theatre in the woods, last year at Midlands Arts Centre and this year we are at The Norbury Theatre, Droitwich.

The Star Project puts on the very best shows possible for MAIN STAGE term, with professional level production for our stars in a state of the art theatre with fantastic lighting, sound and microphones, costumes, special effects and projection. We truly believe we offer the best of the best in youth theatre performance. This is an EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME for any child!

What is a CALL TIME?

A call time is the time that the performer is called to the theatre to begin rehearsal. So this is the time you must drop off and sign in your child with our team. Show time is the time the show starts, so always arrive 15-30 minutes before this to get seated. Children stay with us from their call time until the end of their show.

WHAT TO BRING TO TECH REHEARSAL AND SHOW DAY

WHAT TO WEAR: Children must attend in their theatre blacks with their Star Project T-shirt over the top.

For the technical rehearsal we will not stop for a long lunchbreak just for a drink and small non messy snack. So we advise eating before your rehearsal begins and straight after.

For show day please send your child with a packed lunch or tea, snacks and lots to drink. Please do not pack messy snacks as we have to keep the theatre environment as clean and tidy as possible.

We encourage children to bring their scripts if they need them for cue lines, entrance and exit reminder or support off stage. Scripts are not allowed on stage, children are expected to be off book and are trained by our team to improv their way through any forgotten lines, like magic!

SHOW TICKETS

Tickets will go on sale by the 1st April, we will send out information on how to order your tickets in February/March. As we are in a professional theatre tickets will be around £16.50 each and we will not be limiting tickets, they will be sold on a first come first served basis. The ticket email will contain the booking link. Some Projects have two shows dependent on cast size and we encourage children to have audience at each show for encouragement. Please check your JUNK email if you don’t see it.

This is sent from director@thestarproject.info. This years theatre is a wonderful old historic venue and our Theatre set will be a truly professional and fantastic experience for your stars!

This years Theatre set will be totally old school, less projection and more set pieces, backcloths so spread the word with family and friends to gather your child’s cheerleaders!
