Samuel is an actor and singer, originally from South Yorkshire. He started his journey into performing arts back in school appearing in stage productions of Joseph and his amazing technicolour dream coat and Grease. It wasn’t until college and then later drama school where he began his professional training in the field of drama and performance, studying two BTEC diplomas in Acting and then a 1-year intensive training in Theatre Arts at East 15 Acting School. Since graduating back in 2015, and moving to Birmingham in 2016, Samuel has continued to work and experience all different pathways of creative development, especially directing and creating performance opportunities with younger ages. He is currently in the final year of his degree in Applied Theatre at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, a course which specialises in enabling artists to look at how you can use drama as an educational tool.
He also co-ran a youth theatre in Balsall Heath for two years for ages 7 – 16, and in 2018 went out to Hong Kong for 6 weeks to work as Assistant Leader at a renowned International Youth Theatre, called Faust. Here he was working on Festivals, drama workshops, directing performances, and after school programmes for English Speaking children aged 3 to 18. Though never straying far from acting on the stage he last December played a lead role in an original written, winter musical called the ‘Last Christmas Tree’ written by Valerie Hall, and has just finished working with the Grange Playhouse on their January play ‘Habeas Corpus’ .
Samuel adores singing, script writing and is a big fan of Musicals. He is thrilled to be joining the Star Project in their summer show An Ogre’s Tale!
