About Us

The Star Project provides the best Musical Theatre training for children aged 4-21 years in Worcestershire. The Star Project is an exciting and energetic place to be for young people.

The Star Project founded in 2008 by local performer Jo Payne has supported thousands of students in their development in the arts and personal confidence.

The Star Project gives the opportunity to attend a weekly stage school, audition for a professional London Agency, perform on The West End, work with top industry professionals, grow in confidence and skill in the arts, join a holiday camp and much more!

The Star Project’s main focus is giving children the opportunity to regularly perform in a professional theatre!

When I think back to twenty years ago, when we first opened the doors to The Star Project, so much has changed, grown, and blossomed. Children we once welcomed with tiny backpacks now bring their own children to us. We’ve become a core memory in their childhoods — and nothing fills me with more pride.

In the small village where I grew up, we dreamed of building something meaningful. What we created together has become something mighty: a place where curiosity is nurtured, confidence is built, and learning is joyful. Thousands of young people have walked through our doors, and their journeys were shaped by the exceptional team of teachers who pour their energy, heart, and passion into every single day.
