The Star Project Young Company is an exclusive audition-only programme for experienced and passionate musical theatre performers aged 12–18, based at The Artrix Studio Theatre in Bromsgrove. Rehearsals take place every Friday evening from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM during term time, offering a focused, high-level training experience for those ready to take their skills to the next level. With only 15–17 places available and auditions held in rounds, the company ensures a professional environment made up of the most elite and hardworking students, with priority given to current Star Project members.
This programme is ideal for students who want to challenge themselves, expand their experience, and take on leadership roles within a dynamic and supportive environment. As a non-profit organisation, the core mission is to help young performers grow into well-rounded, confident, and capable artists. Company members will work collaboratively to devise original scenes and productions, gaining hands-on experience across all stages of the creative process—from concept development to final performance.
Throughout the year, students will explore a wide range of theatrical topics while honing vital skills in storytelling, stagecraft, and creative leadership. With a professional standard of working and performance at its heart, SP Young Company provides the perfect platform for driven young artists to push themselves further. Members will also have opportunities to work alongside industry professionals, develop new productions and engage with current musicals—opening doors to exciting future opportunities in the performing arts.
